"Polyamorous" is the first single by American post-grunge/alternative metal band Breaking Benjamin from their debut album ''Saturate''. ==History == The song was the first known Breaking Benjamin song. The song was first recorded in 2000, but without the tremolo-effect in the intro. It appeared on the band's ''EP'' in 2001 before serving as the lead single on their debut album, ''Saturate'', in 2002. After being played by 97.9 X DJ, and now Breaking Benjamin road manager, Freddie Fabbri, "Polyamorous" gained the attention of Hollywood Records who signed Breaking Benjamin the following year.〔Lello, Michael (Breaking the Silence ) ''The Weekender'' (September 15, 2009). Retrieved on 2-09-10.〕 As the band's debut single, it gained significant national radio play and became Breaking Benjamin's first hit song. Musically, "Polyamorous" features elements of alternative metal with its long-drawn, growled vocals and chunky metallic guitars. The song begins with guitar notes played with a staccato delay effect which quickly swells into a heavy intro. The verses feature palm muted guitar and creeping vocals that suddenly charge into a heavy, shouted chorus. Bass popping and modest guitars are featured in the interlude which gradually build back into the roaring chorus.
